Annual Meeting & Awards Event – SpeakEasy 2020
Our Annual Speakeasy Event & Awards celebrate our 156th year in Roaring ’20s style.
Guests are encouraged to dress the part and dance the night away as we recognize those who have contributed to our mission to preserve, protect and share Bangor’s rich history.
This year we are graciously hosted by our Presenting Sponsor, The Lucerne Inn, for an evening of fine food, sensation libations, and celebrating our region’s history!
Tickets for this event are $50 for members, or $75 for non-members and which includes a one-year membership for the 2020 season!
Founding Fathers Preservation & Stewardship Award
Awarded to the Bangor Water District has been chosen as this year’s recipient for its commitment to preserving the Thomas Hill Standpipe. This living landmark is open four times per year (once each season) to allow visitors to explore the amazing interior of the Standpipe as well as the breathtaking views from the observation platform near the top of the structure.
Judge John E. Godfrey Witness to History Award
Awarded to Deborah Thompson will receive the for her work in documenting Bangor’s architectural history. Her book, Bangor, Maine 1769-1914: An Architectural History, is widely recognized as the most comprehensive and definitive work on the subject.

We are excited to announce that Stesha Cano has been booked as the musical entertainment for this event.
Also, new this year for attendees who choose to participate is an interactive murder mystery relating to the death of one of Bangor’s historic residents.
A limited number of specially-priced overnight packages are available and include a 1-night stay for 2, with the Lucerne Inn’s famous Sunday Buffet the next day!
